シャットダウンの方法

Android x86 でシャットダウンしたいときは、PCのPowerボタンを一度短く押すと、以下のような画面が出ます。そこから、電源OFFや再起動が選択できます。

Android x86 7.1 以降は Ctrlキー + Altキー + Deleteキー の同時押しでもこの画面が出るようです。

また、ホームアプリを Taskbar にしている場合は、スタートメニューの中の・・・マークからも、シャットダウンのメニューを出すことができます。

ホームアプリの切り替え

Android x86 7.1 以降では、プリインストールされているホームアプリには Launcher3 と Taskbar の二種類があります。
ホームアプリの切り替えは、歯車マークの「設定」というアプリから行えます。
設定の中の、「アプリ」という項目から、メニューを出してデフォルトのホームアプリを選択します。

ホームアプリ Launcher3 の特徴

Launcher3 は Android Nougat などのデフォルトのホームアプリです。パソコンの横長ディスプレイで使うと、タブレットを横にしたときのようなホーム画面の見た目です。

ホームアプリ Taskbar の特徴

Taskbar を使うと複数のアプリを、パソコンのウィンドウのように、重ねたり、並べたりして一画面に表示することができます。開発停止となってしまった Android x86 の 派生版 RemixOS のホーム画面と似た趣ですが、アプリアイコンを、タスクバー部分にしか配置できない点や、タスクバーにあるアイコンをクリックすると他のアプリが表示されてしまうことがある点が少し不便に感じました。

タスクバーにアプリを登録したい場合は、ホームメニューから、登録したいアプリを、長押し (もしくは右クリック) して、「最近使用にピン止め」から。また、「新しいウィンドウ」からは、ウィンドウの大きさ・配置を大雑把に決めてからアプリを開くことができます。

画面を2分割してそれぞれにアプリを配置

下のナビゲーションバーにある、四角のアイコン (アプリ切り替えボタン) を長押しすると、画面が二分割され、二つのアプリを同時に使うことができます (一部非対応のアプリ有)。

スクリーンショットの撮影

キーボードのPrtScキーを押すと、画面全体のスクリーンショットを取得できます。撮影したスクリーンショットはPictures/Screenshotsに保存されていました。

dpi (Screen Density) を変更して画面を広く使う

dpiを変更することで、画面を広く使うことができるようになります。
以下は23型のFHDのディスプレイで、ブラウザからAndroidのページを見たときの例です。

最新版の Android x86 アンドロイドandroidでFX 8.1-r2 では、いままでとは違う端末エミュレータがプリインストールされており、このエミュレータでは wm コマンドが うまく働きませんでした。下のコマンドで dpi を変更したい場合は Playストアから、ドロイド君のアイコンが目印の 端末エミュレータ を別途インストールして使えばOKでした。

端末エミュレータを開いたら、root権限が必要なコマンドを使うために、端末にsuと入力して Enter で実行してください。

すると、スーパーユーザーリクエストというポップがでますので、許可を選択します。

その後、以下のように入力することで dpi を変更できます (○○○部分には半角で数字を入力してください)。この値が小さすぎたり、大きすぎたりすると、画面に何が書いてあるかが読めなくなったり、画面が狭すぎて操作不能になる可能性がありますのでご注意ください。

仕様なのかバグなのかは分かりませんが、値が小さいと、下のナビゲーションバーにあるアイコンが両端にずれるようです。また、値が大きいとナビゲーションバー自体が右端に移動しました (7.アンドロイドandroidでFX 1-r2 64bit版にて確認)。

一部のゲームアプリに有効な設定？

一部のゲームアプリは、Native Bridge を有効にすると動くようになるかもしれません。Native Bridge は、「設定」アプリの Apps compatibility (または、 Android-x86 Options) から設定できます。

追記：Magisk を導入することで、いくつかのゲームアプリは起動するようになるかも!?

ホーム画面の背景画像が真っ黒になってしまったら.

私の環境では、何度かこの現象に見舞われ、普通の設定項目からは壁紙を変更することができなくなってしまいました (設定しても変更が反映されませんでした)。そのとき、ホームアプリをTaskbarに切り替えてから、タスクバー左端のメニューボタンを長押しして、「壁紙を変更」から壁紙の設定を行うと、私の環境では黒背景から変更することができました (微妙に背景の表示方法が変わりましたが. )。

日本語を入力するために今回はGoogle 日本語入力というアプリを使っていきます。Play ストアで「nihongo」や「japanese keyboard」などで検索すると候補にでると思われます。

インストール後、このアプリを開いて設定を行います。
設定で有効にするから、Google日本語入力 をクリック。

警告文が出ますので、納得できる場合は OK を押します。この警告文についてはどのような IME を使う場合であっても表示されるユーザーへの注意喚起のようです。

続いて、入力方法を選択するから、Google 日本語入力を選択します。

また、 キーボードの切り替えは、文字を入力するときに画面下のバーに現れるキーボードアイコンからも行うことができます。(他にも、Alt＋Fnキーで切り替わるショートカットがありました。半角英数を、変換無効で入力したい場合は便利です)

統計情報を Google に送信しない場合は、このアプリでの初期設定はこれで完了です。
次に、歯車マークの Android の設定アプリを開いて、システム＞言語と入力から、物理キーボードを選びます。

ここで、Google 日本語入力を選択し、キーボードレイアウトを日本語 109Aに変更します。

これで、日本語のかな入力 と 半角英数入力 アンドロイドandroidでFX の切り替えを半角/全角キーを押すだけで行えるようになるはずです。
また、この切り替えはCtrl＋Shiftキーでも行えるようです。(半角/全角の無いキーボードなどで使えるかも)

Android-x86 をより便利に使うためのおすすめアプリ

縦固定のアプリの表示調整に、「Rotation Control」

Android x86 では、縦画面のみにしか対応していないアプリは、左右に空白を作ってディスプレイ中央に表示される仕様のようですが、そのときに表示が崩れる場合がありました。そんなとき、「Rotation Control」から、切り替えを色々試してみると、ちゃんとしたレイアウトに調節できるかもしれません。

使い方は、Rotation Control を起動し、権限を許可、「回転制御開始」をONにして、画面上のステータスバーをクリックすると出現する通知領域から、切り替えを行うだけです。

追記：縦向き画面を横に回転させて表示させる方法もありました。画面回転を有効にすると、持ち運び可能なディスプレイの場合はより便利に!?
